A note of thanks to all those who volunteered to review one of our available books for the 16th volume of the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education. Traci and I have matched potential reviewers to the slate of books and have sent emails to selected reviewers. We hope to have books in the mail within the week.

Volume 15 About to be Printed

We have received word from the mothership that Volume 15 is in the last stages of proofing before it goes to press. If you are a book review author and would like to know what pages your review will be appearing, please get in touch with the editors. Book reviewers will receive a copy of Volume 15 in the mail once printed.

Seeking reviewer interested in ecocriticism

A thanks to those who have already taken the time to submit a request to review a book for the upcoming volume. We’ve had a good response and we’re beginning the process of matching reviewers to books. At the moment, we have yet to receive a request to review Going away to think: engagement, retreat, and ecocritical responsibility by Scott Slovic.

The book is a collection of essays that would be ideal for an environmental education practitioner or researcher interested in ecocriticism. If you are interested, read the information for potential reviewers and complete the form located at the bottom of that page.

Update (11-23-09): We’ve matched a reviewer for this book.

Preparing for Volume 15

Some news from the Book Review arm of the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education as the journal works towards its fifteenth volume, to be published in 2010. First, we have updated our website to a WordPress back-end. Other than a new look, this transition makes it easier for the book review editors to update the website and share relevant information with all those associated with the book review process. Secondly, we are in the process of collecting our slate of books to be reviewed in the upcoming volume. We expect to have our slate finalized by early November 2009 with a call for reviewers following soon after that.
